Universal Welding routinely provides complete sets of shop drawings for our customers review. Upon final acceptance the shop drawings are fully integrated with our fabrication services equipment. This is possible because of our use of the Python X beam processing line that “reads” data from the BIM process in Tekla for automatic beam processing.
Field Labor Forces
Universal Welding has a long time history of erecting steel in our local area and various parts of the state. Whether the building site is served by road, air or water we are willing to participate. If the job requires winter time work in the subarctic or arctic regions of the state, we have the knowledge and expertise to do the job safely under extreme conditions.
Module Fabrication
Universal Welding brings to our customers a team approach to fabricating modules. We utilize subcontractors who have a long history of participation in the Alaska Industry, with a proven track record and, who are dedicated to providing the best in their area of expertise.
R-Stamp
Universal Welding is certified with the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors and authorized to use the “R” Stamp in accordance with Federal Guidelines. This allows us to accommodate a broad range of inspections, tests, repairs and alterations on pressure vessels and highway tanker in the shop and field.
Sand Blasting, Painting & Coatings
Universal Welding has invested in state of the art equipment to be able to successfully apply high-end coatings. Presently we utilize steel grit that is recycled and cleaned in our blast pot with each use. Our paint booth is heated and wired for class 1 Div. 1 use. The booth is fitted with 28’ wide door X 20’ in height, this facilitates the largest of weldments to be coated under controlled conditions. Universal Welding presently is able to offer our customers thermal spray and metalizing services. We have the equipment to facilitate this in the shop and the field.
Steel and Aluminum Fabrication
Universal Welding & Fabrication provides welding and fabrication services from simple parts to complete buildings. Serving Alaska since 1980 and using highly skilled labor we deliver on time and within budget. Universal Welding also provides valued engineering along with an attitude of being a solution for our customer’s problems.
Tank Fabrication
Universal Welding & Fabrication Inc. is UL-142 certified for fabrication of steel above ground tanks for flammable and combustible liquids. We are also certified with the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors and authorized to use the “U” Stamp in accordance with Federal Guidelines. This allows us to build ASME certified pressure vessels.
Universal Welding also fabricates custom truck mounted water tanks used in the building of ice roads in the Prudhoe Bay area of the state.
